IKEA
My intern at IKEA marked a crucial transition in my professional career, moving from self-media to a more corporate, commercialized atmosphere, deepening my passion and expertise in digital media. This internship allowed me to embrace and contribute to the corporate world.
On Boarding package
For the logo, I took into account the role of IKEA's purpose for this site, which was built as a link between IKEA's distribution center in North China and focuses on customer deliveries. To symbolize this connectivity, I designed a logo featuring three interlocking rings, complemented by IKEA’s classic colors.
Beyond the standard onboarding gifts provided to new employees, I proposed a unique addition to enhance the personalization of the experience. Using silk screen printing, we offered each employee the opportunity to print a phrase or words of personal significance onto their onboarding T-shirts—or anywhere else they preferred. For a warehousing and distribution company, a way to make staff members feel unique and respected wherever they go.
CDCBJ Promotion
IKEA’s promotional activities offered me a unique platform to apply and expand my skills in digital media, particularly in the area of video production for promoting the Central Distribution Center Beijing (CDCBJ). From the outset, my role was integral in shaping the communication strategy for this large-scale project, blending insights from humanities and science and technology to craft a narrative that would resonate with the company’s ethos and goals.
To better introduce CDCBJ to employees, I collaborated with regular employees to brainstorm 14 diverse video themes, from environmental protection to artificial intelligence. In the execution phase, my responsibilities expanded to include scriptwriting and video editing, where I was able to bring my creative vision to life. Proposing the use of Lego as a medium to create videos was a novel idea that I was particularly proud of. This approach allowed us to tell stories in a visually captivating and environment-friendly way, aligning perfectly with IKEA’s commitment to sustainability. Before I left, I had participated in the production of 7 videos that received praise from senior executives at IKEA China Headquarters.
